Hey! We're Sophie and Kyle - aka the Husband and Wife duo behind Tipi Wedding Co, alongside our dog - Ivy!
We're a family-owned tipi company hiring our amazing tipis for fun, relaxed, outdoor weddings, parties and corporate events across Nottingham, Northampton, Leicester, Derby and beyond! We offer all inclusive packages, whether you’ve got your own land ready to go or looking to book a wedding venue / field for the day.
We started in the industry through Wedding Photography, via our sister company Sophie Ann Photography with a love for outdoor, alternative weddings. We then had a tipi wedding of our own back in 2019 - so we've been in your shoes!
Planning a DIY wedding is fun and rewarding and we’re here to help every step of the way. We are here to help transform your ideas into amazing tipi celebrations, weddings and events.
Our hire packages are all inclusive, so we don’t charge per table, per bench, per firepit. Everything from your furniture to fairy lights to dance floor is included as standard for the best tipi wedding - with the option to add some finishing touches, if you fancy it!
A site visit before the day is included with our packages, where Kyle will visit your venue to have a chat about your day and the site in person. We’re here to help with logistics, ideas and to answer any questions you may have at any stage.
Whenever you email us, it will be us – Sophie or Kyle – on the other end. We’re a Husband and Wife team (who had a tipi wedding of our own!) so want to personally get to know you and your tipi wedding plans!
Every wedding needs drinks, so we offer an inclusive bar service via our converted horse box - to help with your event planning! Not only does it look beautiful, it's provided stocked and staffed by us in house. We just take a refundable minimum spend!

We’re also wedding photographers, so have attended more weddings than anyone you know! We are full of knowledge and may be available to capture your day via Sophie Ann Photography too! There's lots of real weddings over on our website here too.
Tipis are for couples who are searching for a wow-factor blank canvas. Marquee weddings may feel too formal or outdated, or maybe you already have your heart set on that DIY festival wedding day. Tipis provide an outdoor wedding experience, whilst also ensuring you and your guests are warm and dry, no matter the weather.
Tipis, teepees, giant hats – whatever you may call them – are also the home of the WEDFEST.
Wedfest, short for festival wedding – is an epic theme creating a colourful, relaxed and fun setting to celebrate your day. We love seeing how people transform these wooden poles into their own mini glasto-style music festival. Our tipis are the ideal structures for a full festival themed wedding, which will have your families and friends talking for the years to come.
Formal seating plans might not be your vibe, so hire in some hay bales or have picnic blankets outside in the warmer months. A traditional wedding breakfast can be replaced with a food truck of street food!
Fancy camping as your wedding party comes to a close? Bell tents are a great option to create a wedding weekend. Beat the sound curfew with a silent disco for the full music festival experience!
A white wedding not your style? Create a fun colourful display with bunting, festival flags, wooden palettes and lanterns up high! Our festoon lighting always adds to the atmosphere.
Although the tipis are a naturally beautiful blank canvas, It's all in the little details to create an amazing atmosphere for you and your guests. Plus, if you choose to book your wedding with us, we’ve got plenty of stock to achieve a festival themed wedding entirely in house!

We travel up to 2 hours from our HQ on the Nottingham and Leicestershire border inclusive of our packages available! This covers the East Midlands including Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Derbyshire, as well as all surrounding areas.
We can build tipis on any large enough grass pitch, from your local farmers field to back gardens to a wedding venue itself. To kick start your search for a tipi friendly field, please firstly check out our venues page by clicking here. Some venues are licensed for legal ceremonies, or offer inclusive hire packages with power and toilets. Some even offer onsite accommodation such as shepherds huts or camping! We always recommend checking websites such as ‘borrow my garden’, ‘land for events’ and ‘field lover’ for hidden gems - or reaching out to some local campsites who may be down for private hire on ‘pitch up’! If you’re still stuck, please reach out to us as we will do our best to find you somewhere perfect to host your wedding day.
We complete a site visit with all of our couples and clients before the big day! This is when we’ll check everything from vehicle access to power to potential tipi locations. It’s also an opportunity to ask any questions and discuss finer details in person!
Each tipis is 10.3m in diameter and can be joined to another tipi as many times as needed to create the perfect set up for your day! As a general guide, 2 tipis is 20x10m, 3 tipis is 30x10m and so on. If you have a field in mind, we have a handy tool here on our website to check tipi sizes to scale! Click here to visit our floor planning page, enter your address and drag the tipis directly onto the land to begin planning your tipi set up. If you want to check specific information about your lands suitability, just send us an email.
If your venue provides power for your full event, we’ll check this during your site visit to ensure we are all set for the tipi lighting and sockets we leave for your wedding band, DJ or sound system. If you need to source power yourselves, you’ll hire in a generator and can happily direct you to some recommended suppliers to assist with this! A 40kva generator is suitable for the majority of weddings, however if you have limited suppliers requiring power a smaller generator may be sufficient! All of our lighting is low power LED.
Yes! Every outdoor wedding needs an outdoor bar to match. We make planning your day as simple as possible by offering our converted horse box, fully stocked and staffed. It’s FREE to hire, we just take a refundable minimum spend. You can find out more about our Horse Box here.
If you choose us as your bar supplier or book us as your wedding photographers via our sister company, Sophie Ann Photography - we’ll be there to help however you may need us, from lighting the fire in the evening to moving furniture. If you opt for other suppliers though, don’t worry - you will be shown everything you need to have your day run seamlessly when we complete the tipi handover after build.
If you opt for a fully licensed venue, it is possible to have a legal ceremony on their land - or even in a separate ceremony room at some of our recommended venues before heading to your tipi reception on site! If you’re opting for the more common field / back garden / non-licensed venue though - we highly recommend opting for a personalised celebrant led outdoor ceremony at the tipis. You can use the tipi benches or hire in some hay bales, with the tipi as a covered option whatever the weather. You’ll then do the ‘legal’ part on another day, a chance to celebrate twice. If you’d like some information and ideas on what some of our past couples have chose to do for their ceremony and reception - we’d love to share the options with you!
Although we would love to guarantee a sunny day for all of our couples, weather is the one thing we cannot control! The tipis are waterproof and will provide you and your guests shelter away from the outside when needed. Although we always aim to have the front edge fully open for all of our couples to give you the outdoor wedding feel, we will adapt your set up on build day based on the forecast to ensure everyone is happy and dry, whatever the weather. The party will continue inside, with the fire pit/s and lighting to see you through the night!

We don’t quote per event - instead, we have an all inclusive package for 1, 2, 3 or 4 giant tipis! Our pricing includes everything from furniture hire to festoon lighting to firepits! Pizza vans, hog roasts, BBQs, grazing platters, afternoon teas and everything in between! Outdoor weddings allow you to tap into the yummy outdoor catering market, from converted horse boxes to street food trucks! The relaxed catering style always adds to the festival feel and we love seeing the different options couples choose to make their day truly unique to them.
Yes! Our 1 tipi package is perfect for smaller, intimate weddings and celebrations. We have provided a single tipi for garden weddings of 25-30 guests for a meal, party or as a chill out space! Our 1 hat tipis are also an amazing option for parties, birthdays and similar celebrations. Tipi’s are a marquee alternative, offering a modern, wow-factor twist on the more traditional white structure. Where marquee weddings offer a more indoor style event within an outdoor environment, tipis offer an inside-outside feel and atmosphere, uniting nature and a warm and cosy feel! Your guests can relax in the sunshine and play garden games - or sit by the indoor fire - without feeling separate from one another. Tipis will wow your guests through their unique appearance and more often than not, it will be their first time ever seeing them!
